Benjamin and Thomas Cherner founded The Cherner Chair Company in the final decade of the 1990’s in the United States, motivated by their dream to continue the collection of furniture designed by their father, the designer Norman Cherner. The brand was named after the most iconic piece on his arquive, the Cherner chair, designed and created for the first time in 1958. Author of different publications, Professor at Colombia University and consultant at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), both in New York, Norman Cherner became an undeniable figure in the Architecture and Design worlds. Before the launching of the brand, his pieces were exhibited solely in museums and at collectors houses.

In addition to the reissue of the designers great classics, The Cherner Chair Companynow introduces new creations by Benjamin Cherner, who has been expanding the brand’s main collection since 2012. Every chair, table or bench from the Cherner Chair Collection is made to last a lifetime. The sustainability of the pieces is guaranteed by the premium quality of their materials – themoulded plywood (from certified forests, recognized by their active management according to demanding environmental criteria) and recyclable components, from the foams to the metallic elements. The brand is now exclusively available in Lisbonat QuartoSala. “By adding The Cherner Chair Company to our curated project, we intend to give a response to the crescent search for sophistication and valorization of spaces.
